PRESS RELEASE
 

On February 9, 2020, at approximately 12:26 a.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on Wagner Road in the town of Bangor on a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado for having an obstructed license plate.  Subsequent to the traffic stop, 39-year-old Chad P. Fountain of Bangor, was arrested after he attempted to destroy drug evidence consisting of a glass smoking pipe with drug residue, by throwing it into a wooded area adjacent to the roadway.  He was also found in possession of a quantity of cocaine.  Fountain was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence (E felony), Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), and was released on appearance tickets to appear in the Bangor Town Court.
