PRESS RELEASE
 

On February 1, 2020 at approximately 3:25 p.m., New York State Police at Gateway arrested Patricia K. Lopez, age 32 of Bronx, NY for five counts of the felony of Possession of a Forged Instrument in the first degree. 

A trooper initiated a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle make vehicle and traffic violations while on State Highway 17 in the town of Kirkwood.  The trooper discovered that the vehicle was a rental and being driven by a male driver who was not the person on the rental agreement.  The driver, identified as Majetis D. Adams, age 26 of Bronx, NY was unlicensed and issued an appearance ticket for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree.  The vehicle was ultimately towed after a request was made by the rental company. 

A further investigation revealed that Lopez, who was a rear seat passenger was in possession of five different driver’s license’s with various names from different states .  An Investigator learned that Lopez was planning to use the ID’s to cash checks in the name of the person who was listed on the ID’s.  Lopez was arrested and arraigned at Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing where she was released on her own recognizance.
