Cold Case Tuesday- The New York State Police in Ellenville continue to investigate the 45-year-old homicide of an Ulster County man.  
 
On August 24, 1974, Efraim Bello, 45, of Kerhonkson, was found shot to death in the town of Rochester. Bello, also known as Frank, was found by Troopers on the scenic overlook on State Route 44/55 during a routine patrol.
 
Bello was last seen at P&G’s Bar in New Paltz, the night of August 23, 1974. Witnesses reported he appeared to be there alone. He spoke with and danced with a female that came into the bar and then left alone at approximately 11 p.m. 
 
At approximately 4:40 a.m. on August 24, troopers on patrol spotted Bello deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.
 
Over the years, numerous interviews have been conducted with patrons of the bar, and members of the community. Numerous leads have also been investigated. It is believed that an individual or individuals have information crucial to this investigation, and are strongly urged to come forward.
 
State Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this ongoing investigation are asked to contact Troop F, SP Ellenville at 845-626-2863.
