PRESS RELEASE


The New York State Police are investigating a two-car collision which occurred at approximately 9:02 a.m. on the Northern State Parkway west of exit 29, Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2016 Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound, struck the rear of a 2017 Dodge Durango traveling in the right lane.  The impact caused the Jeep to leave the roadway onto the right shoulder before striking a tree and subsequently catching on fire.  The operator of the Jeep succumbed to his injuries at the scene.   
 
 
The New York State Police is requesting that anyone who may have witnessed this incident contact State Police Farmingdale at (613)756-3300.  All calls will remain confidential.
