Some major roadways in Troop C had lanes blocked due to weather related incidents throughout the day on Friday. 

In Tompkins County, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a tractor trailer jackknifed on State Route 13 (northbound) in the village of Cayuga Heights.  The incident is weather related.  Both lanes in the northbound direction are closed and travelers are being asked to exit at the Stewart Park exit. Update: One lane reopened at approximately 1:09 p.m. Update 2: both lanes are open at approximately 2:06 p.m.

In Broome County, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Interstate 81 (northbound) shut down in the town of Lisle near milepost marker 32 (between exits 8- Whitney Point and 9- Marathon).  Several tractor trailers are disabled due to the weather conditions.  Travelers are being detoured at exit 8 (Whitney Point). Update: Both lanes reopened at approximately 2:05 p.m.

In Tompkins County, at approximately 12:30 p.m., SR 34/96 (southbound) closed due to numerous tractor trailers blocking roadway caused by snow covered road conditions. Update: road reopened at approximately 2:44 p.m.

In Tompkins County, at approximately 2:10 p.m., the intersection of State Route 38 and State Route 13 in Dryden is closed due to power lines in the roadway likely caused by heavy snow. Update: road reopened approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday
