UPDATE- State Police are releasing details regarding the investigation into the fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on I-787 on July, 12, 2019.
Motorcycle operator, Colin Weidner, was traveling westbound on Alternate Route 7 and had entered the southbound ramp of Interstate 787 when he lost control as he changed lanes from left to right. The motorcycle exited the northern shoulder of the roadway and struck a guiderail causing Weidner to be ejected, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed is believed to a contributing factor.


At approximately 4:11 p.m. on July 12, 2019, State Police responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident on the ramp of Alternate Route 7 to I-787 southbound. The driver of the motorcycle, 26-year-old Colin M. Weidner, of Troy, was pronounced dead on scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, details will be posted to the newsroom when they become available.
