PRESS RELEASE

Members of the New York State Police conducted a Fixed Sobriety Checkpoint on August 21, 2019 on State Route 282 in the town of Tioga.   Three people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  A total of 22-tickets were issued. 
 
Here is the break-down of arrests:
  • 9:43 p.m. Daniel G. Gable age 54 of Waverly, NY.  Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), reportable B.A.C. of .08%.  Released on appearance tickets to the town of Tioga court on September 4, 2019.
  • 11:12 p.m., Timothy C. Zimmer, age 26 of Waverly, NY.  Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  Released on appearance tickets to the town of Tioga Court on September 4, 2019. 
  • 11:20 p.m. Roger A. Martin, age 49 of Owego, NY. Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), Possession of Open Container, No License.  Refused to submit to a chemical test.  Released on appearance tickets to the town of Tioga court on September 11, 2019. 
  • 11:41 p.m.  Joseph M. Brown, age 34 of Barton, NY who was a passenger of a vehicle.  Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the fourth degree (misdemeanor).  Released on appearance tickets to the town of Tioga Court on September 4, 2019. 
 
Other traffic tickets issued:
  • Uninspected Motor Vehicle: 8
  • Improper/No Restraint for Child: 2
