On July 3, 2019, New York State Troopers responded to a burglary complaint at a residence in the Village of Sharon Springs.  Kenneth Cravotta reported the theft of 6 video game consoles and a computer from his residence.  During the initial investigation, roommates Ryan Dobson and Shawn Clark were interviewed and told Troopers the same reported information as Cravotta stated.  Subsequent to the investigation it was discovered that Cravotta, Clark and Dobson lied to Troopers about the burglary and the reported stolen items were recovered from a third party.  Cravotta was arrested for one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Making a Punishable False Written Statement, a Class A Misdemeanor and Conspiracy 6th degree, a Class B Misdemeanor.  Clark and Dobson were both charged with one count of Conspiracy 6th degree.      

All three suspects were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Sharon court on July 18, 2019.
