On April 16, 2021, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the members of the US Marshal Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to execute a parole absconder warrant on an individual at 107 Fairbanks Street in Rochester.

The suspect made his way into an adjoining residence at 105 Fairbanks and tried to hide in the basement.

When members of the Task Force tried to take the suspect into custody, he refused to follow the officer’s instructions and made an aggressive movement towards the officers with a large butcher knife.

The suspect was shot with one round in the shoulder area and transported to Strong Hospital for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries and was last reported to be in guarded condition.

The investigation is continuing.
