Troop C Commander
In the month of June, members from Troop "C" removed 44 impaired drivers off the roadways. Troop "C" encompasses seven counties: Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
On June 2, 2022, at approximately 8:36 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Michael Murray, age 59 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a report of an accident after a vehicle struck a fence just outside the parking lot of the Celtic Motel. An investigation revealed that Murray was operating the vehicle and the trooper noted an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, he was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta for processing. A further investigation revealed that Murray was wanted in the state of Texas. Murray was transported to the Otsego County Jail to await Central Arraignment and Processing.
On June 2, 2022, at approximately 11:14 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Thomas R. Joseph, age 30 of Colorado Springs, CO for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a crash on Interstate 81 north in the town of Chenango. The trooper arrived to find an SUV sideways with heavy damage and blocking the left lane. The trooper observed Joseph walking away from the crash. While interviewing Joseph, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. Joseph was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Joseph was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .26%. Joseph was issued appearance tickets to the Chenango Town Court on June 29, 2022 then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 2, 2022, at approximately 11:17 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Charles G. VanLoan III, age 58 of Hancock, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. A trooper was dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a motorcycle crash on Shea Road in the town of Hancock. While on the way to the scene, the trooper was advised that the operator of the motorcycle was leaving on his bike and traveling toward County Road 28. The trooper observed multiple vehicle traffic violations and attempted to make a traffic stop but the operator failed to comply. The operator turned into a driveway on County Road 67 when he dismounted the motorcycle and attempted to flee into a residence but was taken into custody by troopers. He was identified as VanLoan and taken into custody. He was transported to Wilson Hospital where he was checked out for a head injury sustained during the crash. Troopers also found VanLoan in possession of suspected illegal drugs. He was issued appearance tickets to the Hancock Town Court on July 11, 2022.
On June 3, 2022, at approximately 6:28 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Danilza Martinez, age 22 of Bronx, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. While on Interstate 81 in the town of Triangle, a trooper observed a vehicle speeding and failing to stay within its lane. A traffic stop was initiated, and the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. Martinez was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Martinez was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where she was additionally evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. She was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Triangle Town Court on June 20, 2022.
On June 3, 2022, at approximately 7:49 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Zacharias J. Moore, age 36 of Ithaca for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. A trooper was dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle in front of Glenwood Pines in the town of Ulysses. Troopers located the vehicle parked in the roadway, right in the lane of travel. Troopers interviewed Moore, who was driving. While interviewing Moore, troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment. Moore was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Moore was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Ulysses Town Court on July 11, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 5, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Kyle Ciaravino, age 28 of Grand Gorge, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle on State Highway 30 in the town of Roxbury with vehicle and traffic infractions. While interviewing Ciaravino, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Ciaravino was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Stamford for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .12%. Ciaravino was issued appearance tickets to the Roxbury Town Court on June 22, 2022.
On June 8, 2022, at approximately 9:50 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Mark J. Reekstin, age 38 of Sanford, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was investigating another matter when he observed Reekstin who had driven to the location and that he appeared intoxicated. Reekstin was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was transported to SP Deposit where his reportable B.A.C was .13%. Reekstin was processed and issued an appearance ticket to the Sanford Town Court on July 29, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 9, 2022, at approximately 6:42 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Benny Zamani, age 63 of Saddle Brook, NJ for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on State Highway 23 in the town of Roxbury observed a vehicle cross over into the opposite lane of travel and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Zamani, the trooper observed impairment. Zamani was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Stamford where he was additionally evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. Zamani was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Roxbury Town Court on June 29, 2022 and released to a sober third party.
On June 9, 2022, at approximately 10:58 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Jeffrey P. Laskow, age 64 of Shandaken, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle that failed to stop in the parking lot of Margaretville Hospital and was on the railroad ties, almost striking the building. While interviewing Laskow, a trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, Laskow was arrested. He was transported to SP Margaretville where he was additional evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Middletown Town Court on June 23, 2022.
On June 9, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Rebecca M. Murphy, age 28 of Fort Plain, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on State Highway 28 in the town of Richfield observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Murphy, the trooper smelled and odor of an alcoholic beverage along with other characteristics associated with impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which confirmed impairment. Murphy was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs, where her reportable B.A.C was .08%. She was issued appearance tickets to the Richfield Town Court on July 6, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 10, 2022, at approximately 2:39 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Gregory M. Matson, age 51 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was assisting the village of Owego Police with an investigation that determined Matson was impaired. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Matson was arrested and transported to SP Candor where his reportable B.A.C was .15%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Owego Village Court on July 5, 2022 and released to a sober third party.
On June 11, 2022, at approximately 3:35 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Krista E. Gibbons, age 36 of Hallstead, PA for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on Interstate 81 in the town of Kirkwood observed a vehicle failing to maintain a lane and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Gibbons, the trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Gibbons was transported to SP Binghamton where her reportable B.A.C was .12%. She was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Kirkwood Town Court on July 20, 2022.
On June 11, 2022, at approximately 2:26 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Francis E. Lupo, age 39 of Walton, NY for the felony of Driving While Impaired by Drugs (with a prior conviction within 10 years) and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a man allegedly slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at Mirabito in the town of Bainbridge. When troopers arrived, the man identified as Lupo was being checked out by EMS. He was not transported to a hospital. Troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment and he was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Lupo was arrested and also found to be in possession of suspected illegal drugs. He was transported to SP Sidney where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Lupo was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Bainbridge Town Court on June 28, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 11, 2022, at approximately 9:09 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Abigail J. Honnick-Yeomans, age 22 of Windsor, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Circle Drive in the town of Colesville. It was reported that one of the vehicles continued down the roadway. The trooper located Honnick-Yeomans behind the wheel of a running vehicle that had been involved in the crash on Sanitaria Springs. The trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment. Honnick-Yeomans was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where her reportable B.A.C was .22%. Honnick-Yeomans was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Colesville Town Court on July 13, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 12, 2022, at approximately 2:57 a.m. New York State Police at Sidney arrested Benjamin J. Reynolds, age 56 of Bainbridge, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a report that Reynolds had driven intoxicated. He was located at his residence and an investigation revealed that he was driving while intoxicated. Reynolds was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Sidney where his reportable B.A.C was .18%. Reynolds was issued appearance tickets to the Bainbridge Town Court on June 28, 2022.
On June 12, 2022, at approximately 8:54 a.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Haven Woolsey, age 20 of Walton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 23 and Crane Hill Road in the town of Sidney. The driver of the other vehicle and their passenger and Woolsey and her passenger were all transported to Tri-Town Hospital. While interviewing Woolsey, the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Woolsey was issued appearance tickets to the Sidney Town Court on June 23, 2022.
On June 12, 2022, at approximately 6:50 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Jennifer L. MtPleasant, age 51 of Virgil, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years). A trooper was dispatched to a report of a vehicle that struck several mailboxes and a tree on Bennie Road near the entrance to Walmart in the town of Cortlandville. Troopers found MtPleasant being tended to by members of the Cortlandville Fire Department and TLC Ambulance. An investigation revealed that MtPleasant was impaired when she crashed. After an investigation, she was arrested. She was transported to SP Homer where her reportable B.A.C was .21%. MtPleasant was issued appearance tickets to the Cortlandville Town Court on July 11, 2022 then released to a sober third party.
On June 12, 2022, at approximately 7:42 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Bruce J. Marino, age 61 of Hartwick, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was on River Street Service Road in the city of Oneonta when he observed a vehicle that was reported as a possible impaired driver to Otsego County 911. The trooper also observed other vehicle and traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop on Winney Hill Road in the town of Oneonta. The trooper observed Marino to display characteristics commonly associated with impairment. Marino was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which yielded a positive result for the presence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .14%. Marino was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Oneonta Town Court on June 21, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 13, 2022, at approximately 5:10 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Katarzyna Z. Mrozek, age 47 of New Kingston, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law). A trooper was dispatched to a report of a two-car crash on Thompson Hollow Road in the town of Middletown. An investigation revealed that Mrozek was driving a vehicle when she crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck another vehicle. Mrozek had 3 children under the age of 15 in the vehicle and a 17-year-old who had all left the scene; none required transportation to local hosptials. A further investigation revealed that Mrozek was impaired. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Mrozek was arrested and transported to SP Margaretville where her reportalble B.A.C was .19%. She was issued appearance tickets to the Middletown Court on June 30, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 13, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Amy L. Arnold, age 45 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. While on another traffic stop, Troopers observed a vehicle on State Route 17 East leave the roadway near exit 70S ramp then struck a delineator post before getting off the exit. A trooper initiated a traffic stop on State Route 201 in Vestal. The trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. Arnold was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Endwell for an additional evaluation by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Arnold was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Johnson City Village Court on July 6, 2022.
On June 14, 2022, at approximately 8:08 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Jennifer H. Giacalone, age 34 of Deposit, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near Old Route 17 in the town of Windsor. The trooper located Giacalone who displayed characteristics of impairment. After an investigation, she was arrested. Giacalone was processed at SP Deposit and issued appearance tickets to the Windsor Town Court on June 27, 2022.
On June 14, 2022, at approximately 10:31 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested McKenzie L. Dodge, age 26 of New Hartford, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was monitoring traffic on State Route 12 in the town of North Norwich when he observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop on State Route 12 in the town of Sherburne. While interviewing Dodge, the trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Norwich where her reportable B.A.C was .09%. Dodge was issued tickets to the North Norwich Town Court on July 27, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 15, 2022, at approximately 8:19 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Alexandr Gorski, age 47 of Philadelphia, PA for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched by Cortland County 911 to the report of a tractor trailer that rolled on Interstate 81 north near exit 11. The driver of the truck reported that he was not injured. The trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment and Gorski was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. After an investigation, he was arrested and transported to SP Homer where he was additional evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Gorski was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Cortland City Court on July 25, 2022.
On June 17, 2022, at approximately 7:44 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Scott J. Conrad Jr., age 29 of Delhi, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers on State Highway 10 in the town of Walton observed a vehicle make an unsafe pass and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Conrad, troopers observed signs of impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Conrad was arrested and transported to SP Sidney where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Conrad was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Walton Town Court on July 13, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 18, 2022, at approximately 5:19 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Joseph M. Woolsey, age 26 of Sidney Center, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a loud noise near State Highway 206 in the town of Unadilla. An investigation revealed that Woolsey stuck a parked vehicle, guide rail and mailbox while eastbound on State Highway 206. Woolsey did not wish to be transported to a local hospital. A further investigation revealed that he was impaired and jogged home after crashing the vehicle. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Woolsey was arrested and transported to SP Sidney where his reportable B.A.C. was .14%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Masonville Town Court on July 19, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 18, 2022, at approximately 5:45 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Robert D. Lindsay, age 64 of Cooperstown, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Harassment in the second degree. Troopers were dispatched by Otsego County 911 to a report of a harassment. According to the 911 caller, the person who was the suspect in the complaint, left the area in a vehicle. With the assistance of Cooperstown PD and Otsego County Sheriff’s Deputies the vehicle was located and Lindsay was inside it. After an investigation, it was revealed that Lindsay had been making harassing calls to the victim. It was also determined that Lindsay was impaired. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Lindsay was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs where his reportable B.A.C was .13%. Lindsay was issued appearance tickets to the Otsego Town Court.
On June 18, 2022, at approximately 7:53 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Keith M. Huffman, age 47 of Sidney, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years). Troopers and Sidney EMS were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle that went off the roadway on Road 13 in the town of Masonville. An investigation revealed that Huffman appeared impaired. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated alcohol impairment. Huffman was arrested and transported to SP Sidney where his reportable B.A.C was .12%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Masonville Town Court on July 19, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 18, 2022, at approximately 7:40 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Shain A. Law, age 23 of Greene, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers on County Road 32 in the town of Greene observed a vehicle with vehicle and traffic infractions and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Law, troopers observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment. Law was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which showed signs with impairment. Law was arrested and transported to SP Greene and evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. She was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Greene Town Court on July 14, 2022.
On June 19, 2022, at approximately 4:32 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Pierre Francois, age 27 of Sharon Springs, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the middle of the driving lane off exit 19 (Worcester) eastbound off Interstate 88. The operator of the vehicle appeared to be asleep and awoke when a trooper opened the driver’s door. Troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. Francois was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which indicated intoxication. When troopers attempted to arrest Francois, he actively resisted but was ultimately taken into custody. He was processed at SP Oneonta and issued appearance tickets to the Worcester Town Court on June 28, 2022.
On June 19, 2022, at approximately 10:52 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Anthony L. Trumbach, age 63 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a driver who was failing to maintain a lane while on State Route 17 and State Route 434. Trumbach was stopped on State Route 434 where he was interviewed and observed to display characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Trumbach was arrested and transported to SP Owego where his reportable B.A.C was .14%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Owego Town Court on June 30, 2022, then later turned over to a sober third party.
On June 19, 2022, at approximately 9:49 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Kenneth E. Graham, age 46 of Lockwood, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. While on State Route 34 in the town of Barton, a trooper observed a vehicle failing to maintain a lane and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Graham, the trooper noted an odor of an alcoholic beverage. After an investigation, he was arrested. Graham was transported to SP Owego, processed and issued appearance tickets to the Barton Town Court on July 19, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 20, 2022, at approximately 10:02 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Christyna J. Slater, age 20 of Burlington Flats, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report to a vehicle that was being driven erratically. A trooper located the vehicle on State Highway 23 after it was involved in a crash. An investigation revealed that Slater crossed over into the opposite lane sideswiping a vehicle pulling a trailer and continued down the road. Slater was transported to A.O Fox Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Troopers also observed characteristics associated with intoxicated. After an investigation, she was arrested and issued appearance tickets to the Davenport Town Court on June 28, 2022.
On June 22, 2022, at approximately 11:20 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Peter E. Harahus, age 48 of Vestal, NY for the felonies of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation the first degree and Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years). A trooper observed a vehicle on Glendale Drive making vehicle and traffic infractions. A traffic stop was initiated on Leona Avenue and while interviewing Harahus, the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. Harahus was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. An investigation also revealed that his driver’s license was revoked. Harahus was arrested and transported to SP Endwell for processing then turned over to the Broome County Jail to await arraignment.
On June 23, 2022, at approximately 6:53 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Robin D. Durand, age 35 of Oxford, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law). Troopers were dispatched by Chenango County 911 to a report of a domestic in the middle of the roadway on Hoben Road in the town Oxford. A trooper was able to locate the vehicle and that two people that were involved on a seasonal dirt road. Both parties refused medical attention and did not want to press charges, however the trooper observed that Durand displayed impairment. The investigation determined that Durand was driving, and a young child was also in the vehicle. Durand was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated a presence of alcohol impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where her reportable B.A.C was .14%. Durand was issued appearance tickets to the Oxford Town Court on July 18, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 23, 2022, at approximately 10:11 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Charles T. Hendrickson Jr., age 44 of Windsor, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. While on Old Route 17 in the town of Windsor, a trooper observed a vehicle and traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Hendrickson, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, Hendrickson was arrested. He was transported to SP Deposit where his reportable B.A.C was .16%. Hendrickson was issued appearance tickets to the Windsor Town Court on July 11, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 23, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Brian M. Jacopelle, age 41 of Liverpool, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a crash on State Highway 7 in the town of Oneonta. An investigation at the scene revealed that Jacopelle rear-ended another vehicle when it was attempting to turn into the Price Chopper parking lot then continued down State Highway 7. Troopers and Otsego County Deputies assisted in locating the pick-up. The truck was located on Interstate 88 westbound in the town of Otego and a traffic stop was initiated. While interviewing Jacopelle, a trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. On June 23, 2022, at approximately 10:58 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Tracy L. Grooms, age 59 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Virgil Road in the town of Dryden. While interviewing Grooms, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. After an investigation, Grooms was arrested. She was transported to SP Ithaca and processed. Grooms was then transported to the Tompkins County Jail to await arraignment.
On June 24, 2022, at approximately 2:34 a.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Ian C. Stanton, age 21 of Schenevus for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on State Highway 28 in the village of Margaretville observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Stanton, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Stanton was arrested and transported to SP Margaretville for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .08%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Middletown Court on July 14, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 24, 2022, at approximately 8:48 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Edward J. Mander, age 64 of Utica, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree. A trooper was dispatched by Otsego Count 911 to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. The trooper located the described vehicle on Main Street in the village of Richfield Springs and observed vehicle and traffic infractions. The trooper initiated a traffic stop and while interviewing Mander, observed characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Mander was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs where his reportable B.A.C was .08%. Mander was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Richfield Springs Village Court on August 23, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 25, 2022, at approximately 12:54 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Michael J. Hull, age 30 of Norwich, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Chenango County 911 to a report of a two-vehicle crash near County Road 32 and County Road 32A in the town of Norwich. An investigation at the scene revealed that Hull was making a right from County Road 32A onto County Road 32 when he struck a vehicle on County Road 32. While interviewing Hull about the crash, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. Hull was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which revealed intoxication. Hull was transported to SP Norwich for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .15%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Norwich Town Court on July 21, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On June 25, 2022, at approximately 4:58 a.m., New York State Police at Margaretville, arrested Devon Ireland, age 27 of Unadilla, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a person slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle at the Mirabito in the town of Unadilla. The trooper observed suspected drugs and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The trooper was able to wake the driver and while speaking to the driver, the trooper learned that Ireland was impaired. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which were indicative of impairment. Ireland was arrested and transported to SP Sidney. Ireland was issued appearance tickets to the Unadilla Town Court on July 11, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On June 25, 2022, at approximately 11:18 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested David S. Marks, age 34 of Buffalo, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law). A trooper was dispatched by Cortland County 911 to a report of a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 81 and failing to maintain its lane. The trooper was able to locate described vehicle and observed vehicle and traffic infractions then initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Marks, the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. The trooper also observed an adult passenger and four children in the vehicle. Marks was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which were indicative of impairment. Marks was arrested and transported to SP Homer where his reportable B.A.C was .15%. Marks was processed and then turned over to the Cortland County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
On June 26, 2022, New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Tyler A. Graham, age 20 of Burlington Flats, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. On May 5, 2022, at approximately 10:44 p.m., troopers observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed on State Highway 80 in the town of Edmeston. The troopers lost visual of the vehicle and later found the vehicle crashed into a tree near a home of County Highway 20. A trooper saw that the vehicle was on fire and attempted to pull Graham out of the vehicle. The trooper and an Otsego County Deputy were able to pry the door of the vehicle off and pull Graham to safety. Graham was evaluated by medical personnel from the Edmeston Fire Department then transported to Upstate by LifeNet for serious injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that Graham’s B.A.C was .11%. He was arrested on June 26, processed and issued appearance tickets to the Edmeston Town Court on July 25, 2022.
On June 30, 2022, at approximately 9:12 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Jonathan P. Raney, age 44 of Lockwood, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years). Troopers initiated a traffic stop on State Highway 34 in the town of Barton after observing vehicle and traffic infractions. While interviewing Raney, troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment. Raney was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Candor where his reportable B.A.C was .21%. Raney was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Barton Town Court on July 19, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
In the month of May, members from Troop "C" removed 41 impaired drivers off the roadways. Troop "C" encompasses seven counties: Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
On May 1, 2022, at approximately 7:05 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested David W. Leitch, age 34 of Genoa, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years. Troopers responded to a report of a crash between two vehicles, one of the vehicles was on its roof. An investigation at the scene revealed that Leitch rear-ended another vehicle. Both drivers were checked out and neither was transported. While interviewing Leitch, troopers observed impairment. After an investigation, he was arrested. He was processed at SP Ithaca then transported to Tompkins County Central Arraignment and Processing.
On May 1, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Carrie A. Fuller, age 38 of New Milford, PA for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. While on Union Center Main Highway in the town of Union, troopers observed a vehicle and traffic infraction. Troopers initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Fuller, troopers observed impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Fuller was arrested and transported to SP Endwell. She was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Fuller was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Union Town Court on May 17, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 2, 2022, at approximately 10:06 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Allison R. Lynch, age 23 of Norwich, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. While on County Road 32A in the town of Norwich, a trooper observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Lynch the trooper discovered that Lynch was smoking marihuana while driving (which is illegal). Lynch was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Norwich where she was additional evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Lunch was issued appearance tickets to the Norwich Town Court on June 23, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On May 2, 2022, at approximately 11:24 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Kathleen A. Callahan, age 40 of Sidney, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Impaired by Drugs with a Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law). She was also charged with the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Troopers were dispatched by Otsego County 911 to check on a woman in a vehicle at the Walmart on State Highway 23 in the town of Oneonta. While interviewing Callahan, a trooper observed impairment and that there was also a toddler in the vehicle. Callahan was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. The child was turned over to a sober third party and Callahan was arrested. Callahan was transported to SP Oneonta where she was additionally evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. She was processed and transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing then released on her own recognizance. She was scheduled to appear at Oneonta Town Court on May 5, 2022.
On May 3, 2022, at approximately 8:10 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Austin N. Koontz, age 40 of Rochester, NH for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a possible accident near the Interstate 88 westbound Rest Area in the town of Worcester. The trooper located the vehicle that matched the description provided by the 911 caller and that Koontz was in the vehicle asleep. The trooper was able to wake Koontz who appeared confused and impaired. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which confirmed impairment. Koontz was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Worcester Town Court on May 10, 2022.
On May 5, 2022, at approximately 8:19 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Jason R. Lagano, age 34 of Sanford, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to check the welfare of a person on Old Route 17 in the town of Windsor. They located Lagano in a running vehicle and sleeping with his foot on the brake. Troopers were able to wake him and observed impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Lagano was arrested and additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. He processed and later arraigned at the Broome County Jail.
On May 6, 2022, at approximately 10:39 a.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested James D. Wilson, age 54 of Vestal, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated in a Commercial Motor Vehicle. While at a Commercial Vehicle check at the Preble Rest area off Interstate 81 north, troopers inspected a pick-up truck pulling a flatbed trailer. While talking to the driver (Wilson) the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Wilson was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Homer where his reportable B.A.C was .08%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Preble Town Court on June 14, 2022.
On May 8, 2022, at approximately 12:49 a.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Ryan W. Jahn, age 37 of Worcester, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was on County Highway 18 in the town of Stamford when he saw a vehicle cross the center line and other vehicle and traffic infractions. Troopers interviewed Jahn and observed characteristics indicative of intoxication. He was arrested and transported to SP Stamford where he was processed. Jahn was issued appearance tickets to the Stamford Town Court on June 13, 2022, and released to a sober third party.
On May 8, 2022, at approximately 4:40 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Joseph Ali, age 53 of Burlington, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a report of a crash on Bentley Road in the town of Pittsfield. Troopers located the vehicle against a tree. They interviewed Ali who they observed to have characteristics associated with alcohol intoxication. Ali was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .14%. Troopers also found that Ali’s driver’s license was revoked. Ali was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Pittsfield Town Court on June 1, 2022.
On May 8, 2022, at approximately 11:23 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Ricardo Escobedo, age 25 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on Danby Road in the town of Ithaca observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed then turn into a driveway in the city of Ithaca. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and while interviewing Escobedo, they smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Escobedo was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where his reportable B.A.C was .24%. Escobedo was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Ithaca Town Court on June 1, 2022, then released to a sober third party.
On May 11, 2022, at approximately 8:07 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Stefan Krajcovic, age 33 of Colchester, NY for the felonies of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law) and Criminal Mischief in the third degree. He was also charged with the misdemeanors of Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. Krajcovic was combative with troopers and member of Hancock Police Department and was displaying multiple characteristics associated with impairment. It was discovered that Krajcovic was driving his vehicle impaired with a toddler in the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to SP Deposit. Krajcovic was later issued appearance tickets to the Hancock Town Court on May 30, 2022.
On May 12, 2022, at approximately 12:53 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Eric J. Jones, age 36 of Binghamton, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway on East Maine Road in the town of Maine. The occupant was described as being unresponsive. Troopers located Jones in his vehicle and were able to wake him. While interviewing Jones, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. Jones was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. He was arrested and transported to SP Endwell where he was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Maine Town Court on June 8, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 13, 2022, at approximately 2:19 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Thunder L. Whitecloud, age 33 of Newfield, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on Elmira Road in the town of Ithaca spotted a vehicle along the side of the road near State Route 327 and stopped to check if the driver needed assistance. As the trooper approached, he observed Whitecload unconscious in the vehicle that was still running. The troopers were able to wake him and while interviewing Whitecloud, they observed characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Whitecloud was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Ithaca Town Court on May 25, 2022.
On May 13, 2022, at approximately 12:43 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Christine M. Falsetta, age 40 of Sidney, NY for the misdemeanor for Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers on County Road 36 in the town of Guilford observed a vehicle cross over the double yellow line into opposing traffic and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Falsetta, troopers observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment. Falsetta was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. She was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where she was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Falsetta was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Guilford Town Court on May 24, 2022, the released to a sober third party.
On May 14, 2022, at approximately 3:40 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Dana M. Andrews, age 47 of Colesville, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on Colesville Road in the town of Kirkwood observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and made a traffic stop. While interviewing Andrews, troopers observed impairment. After an investigation, he was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .11%. Andrews was issued appearance tickets to the Kirkwood Town Court on June 15, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 14, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Lance D. Newby, age 36 of Newfield, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on Elmira Road in the town of Ithaca observed a vehicle speeding and made a traffic stop. While speaking with Newby, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Newby was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where his reportable B.A.C was .15%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Ithaca Town Court on June 8, 2022 then released to a sober third party.
On May 14, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Oliver J. McGiver, age 66 of West Fulton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Bob Rich Road in the town of Roseboom. While enroute to the location of the vehicle, the trooper saw two people walking along the road and stopped to talk to them. The trooper determined that they were in the vehicle when it went off the roadway and that McGiver was driving. The trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment and asked McGiver to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. McGiver was subsequently arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs where his reportable B.A.C was .14%. He was processed and issued appearance to the Roseboom Town Court on June 1, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 15, 2022, at approximately 2:26 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Thomas M. Purizaca, age 23 of Long Beach, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on South Main Street in the city of Oneonta initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with no headlights. While interviewing Purizaca, the troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment. Purizaca was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which were indicative of impairment. He was transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .12%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Oneonta City Court on May 26, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 15, 2022, at approximately 1:55 p.m., New York State Police at Gateway arrested Justin T. Baker, age 34 of Sidney, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. A trooper on Interstate 81 went to investigate a 911 report of a vehicle unable to maintain its lane while traveling north near exit 7. The trooper observed the described vehicle and also observed the vehicle unable to maintain a lane. The trooper activated his emergency lights and made a traffic stop. While speaking to Baker the trooper observed characteristics associated with drug impairment. Baker was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was arrested and found in possession of suspected illegal drugs. Baker was transported to SP Binghamton where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Baker was processed then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
On May 15, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Morgan Purcell, age 38 of Meredith, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle that went off the roadway and struck a tree on Kelso Road in the town of Meredith. While speaking to Purcell, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, he was arrested. Purcell was transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .20%. He was processed and released to a sober party. Purcell was scheduled to appear in the Meredith Town Court on June 1, 2022.
On May 16, 2022, at approximately 5:38 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Todd R. Sheffield, age 52 of Cape Vincent, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to Interstate 81 south in the town of Lisle for a report of a vehicle along the side of the roadway that had struck the guiderail. Troopers observed Sheffield displaying characteristics associated with impairment and smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. After an investigation, Sheffield was arrested, his reportable B.A.C was .21%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Lisle Town Court on May 30, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 16, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Patrick W. Jacoby, age 36 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. A trooper was dispatched by Otsego County 911 to the area of State Highway 23 and County Highway 10 in the town of Laurens for a report of a vehicle that struck multiple mailboxes. Troopers interviewed Jacoby about what happened, and they observed characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Jacoby was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Jacoby was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Laurens Town Court on June 7, 2022.
On May 17, 2022, at approximately 10:39 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Jesse S. Lupo, age 26 of Union, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on State Route 96 in the town of Owego observed vehicle and traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Lupo, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage prompting them to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Lupo was subsequently arrested and transported to SP Owego where his reportable B.A.C was .08%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Owego Town Court on June 14, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 19, 2022, at approximately 11:59 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Melvin J. Bliss, age 40 of Wappingers Falls, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper monitoring traffic on Interstate 88 in the town of Otego observed a vehicle with vehicle and traffic violations and made a traffic stop. While interviewing Bliss, the trooper smelled an odor of a alcoholic beverage and other characteristics indicative of alcohol impairment. An investigation at the scene revealed that Bliss was impaired. He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .21%. Bliss was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Otego Town Court on May 26, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 20, 2022, at approximately 4:06 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Chad J. Pass, age 35 of Owego, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. Troopers observed a vehicle make vehicle and traffic violations while at the intersection of Court Street Bridge and Southside Drive in the village of Owego and made a traffic stop. While speaking with Pass, the trooper observed characteristics associated with drug impairment. Troopers also located suspected illegal drugs in his possession. After an investigation, he was arrested and transported to SP Candor where he was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Owego Village Court on June 21, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 20, 2022, at approximately 5:07 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Alexander S. Watson, age 22 of Maine, NY for the felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a one vehicle crash on Dedrick Hill Road and Hyde Street in the town of Barker. Troopers located a vehicle the over the embankment with heavy front-end damage and still running. Watson was found to have been operating the vehicle. Watson did not want medical attention. While talking to Watson, the troopers also observed impairment. Watson was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was also found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. Watson was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where he was processed then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
On May 21, 2022, at approximately 9:57 am., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Jason L. Rude, age 46 of Oneonta, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver. Troopers located the described vehicle on State Highway 7 in the town of Unadilla. They interviewed Rude, who had an odor of an alcoholic beverage prompting a further investigation. Rude was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. He was transported to SP Sidney where his reportable B.A.C was .08%. Rude was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Unadilla Town Court on June 20, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 22, 2022, at approximately 12:32 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Dante J. Brinson, age 22 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers observed vehicle and traffic violations while on East Main Street in the village of Endicott and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Brinson, troopers noted an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which indicated impairment and was arrested. Brinson was transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .11%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Endicott Village Court on June 8, 2022.
On May 22, 2022, at approximately 1:48 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Nora C. Sullivan, age 32 of Little Falls, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Otsego County 911 to a report of a vehicle in the ditch off State Route 28 in the town of Richfield. Troopers interviewed Sullivan who displayed characteristics associated with impairment. Sullivan was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Sullivan was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs where Sullivan’s reportable B.A.C was .18%. Sullivan was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Richfield Town Court on June 15, 2022.
On May 22, 2022, at approximately 8:09 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Heather L. Delmage, age 31 of Geneva, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to a vehicle overturned in the ditch off Tuttle Hill Road in the town of Candor. They located Delmage who they observed to have characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, Delmage was arrested. She was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Candor Town Court on June 20, 2022.
On May 24, 2022, at approximately 3:44 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Brianna M. Harris, age 24 of Lansing, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers and Sheriff’s Deputies were on another complaint and parked on East Shore Drive with all their emergency lights activated when a vehicle came by and nearly struck their cars. Troopers initiated a traffic stop on East Shore Drive and interviewed Harris who they discovered does not possess a valid license. Troopers also smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Harris was transported to SP Ithaca where her reportable B.A.C was .10%. Harris was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Lansing Town Court on June 7, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 25, 2022, at approximately 1:25 p.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Gordon E. Marshall, age 62 for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on Main Street in the town of Oneonta observed a vehicle make vehicle and traffic violations. They stopped the vehicle and interviewed Marshall who was observed to display characteristics associated with impairment. Marshall was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .12%. He was issued appearance tickets to the Oneonta Town Court on June 14, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 26, 2022, at approximately 3:25 p.m., New York State Police at Whitney Point arrested Corey A. Boyce, age 29 of Johnson City, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to check on a man who appeared to be slumped over the wheel of a vehicle on Leekville Road in the town of Nanticoke. Troopers located Boyce sleeping in the car with the keys in the ignition and partially obstructing the roadway. Troopers were able to wake Boyce and observed characteristics associated with impairment. After an investigation, he was arrested. Boyce was transported to SP Binghamton and processed then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
On May 27, 2022, at approximately 9:45 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Mark A. Matias, age 64 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Matias entered a DWI Checkpoint near the exit 6 entrance ramp to Interstate 81 in the town of Chenango and a trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and asked Matias to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Matias displayed characteristics of impairment and he was arrested. He was transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .09%. Matias was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Chenango Town Court on June 15, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 28, 2022, at approximately 1:25 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Edgar Hernandez Y Hernan, age 38 of Lisle, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to report of a suspicious vehicle on Marks Road in the town of Lisle. They located a running vehicle in the middle of the roadway with its high beams on and Hernandez Y Hernan sleeping in the driver’s seat. While interviewing Hernandez Y Hernan, troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment and an odor of an alcoholic beverage. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. Hernandez Y Hernan was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .10%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Lisle Town Court on June 6, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 28, 2022, at approximately 7:47 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Devin M. Dufton, age 33 of Hancock, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 the intersection of Kerryville and Deer Run Road in the town of Hancock to check the welfare of a man inside a vehicle. Troopers found Dufton inside the running vehicle who appeared to be passed out. Troopers were able to wake Dufton and observed characteristics associated with impairment. He was observed to also be in possession of suspected illegal drugs. Dufton was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Dufton was arrested and transported to SP Deposit where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket to the Hancock Town Court on July 11, 2022.
On May 28, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Crystal Gonsalves, age 39 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. Troopers were dispatched by Otsego County 911 to Walmart to check the welfare of a woman inside a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle running and rolling forward. The driver, Gonsalves appeared to be sleeping. Troopers were able to wake Gonsalves and told her to put her vehicle in park. While interviewing Gonsalves, troopers observed impairment. She was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which indicated impairment. Gonsalves was arrested and processed at SP Oneonta. She was issued an appearance ticket to the Oneonta Town Court on June 21, 2022, then turned over to a sober third party.
On May 28, 2022, at approximately 10:50 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Philip Shelly, age 57 of Cold Spring, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. While on patrol, a trooper was advised of a 911 complaint of a vehicle that was “all over” the roadway. The trooper observed the vehicle making vehicle and traffic infractions and initiated a traffic stop on State Highway 8 in the town of Deposit. While interviewing Shelly, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage, in addition to other characteristics associated with alcohol impairment. After an investigation, Shelly was arrested. His reportable B.A.C at SP Deposit was .15%. He was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Deposit Town Court on June 20, 2022.
On May 31, 2022, at approximately 11:47 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Dennis Stahl, age 79 of Otego, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs. A trooper was dispatched by Otsego County 911 to a vehicle that had crashed on County Highway 6 in the town of Otego. The trooper located the vehicle on its side in the ditch. While interviewing Stahl, the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment. Shahl was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment. The trooper also learned that his license is revoked. He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. Stahl was issued appearance tickets to the Otego Town Court on June 9, 2022 then released to a sober third party.
