PRESS RELEASE
 

State Police in Troop C removed 46 impaired drivers from local roadways in the month of June.  Troop C encompasses Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga and Tompkins Counties. 

On June 1, 2021 at approximately 7:42 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Darryl D. Kidd Jr., age 40 of Franklin, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to the report of a vehicle that struck a tree near County Road 14 and Post Road in the Town of Franklin.  Kidd was evaluated by Franklin EMS but not transported.  While interviewing Kidd, troopers observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment.  Kidd was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .25%.  Kidd was issued appearance tickets to the Town of Franklin court on June 10, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 1, 2021 at approximately 10:38 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Richard J. Potter, age 49 of Tully, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper on State Route 281 in the Town of Cortlandville observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Potter, the trooper observed impairment.   Potter was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment and he was arrested.  Potter was transported to SP Homer for processing and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Cortlandville court on August 30, 2021.

On June 2, 2021 at approximately 11:32 a.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Rosa Titch, age 27 of Delhi, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.  Troopers were dispatched by Otsego 911 to a report of a suspicious person near the Dollar General on State Highway 7 in the Town of Milford but left the area as a passenger in a vehicle.  With the assistance of the Oneonta Town Constable, Troopers located the described vehicle on Intestate 88 near Exit 16 in the Town of Oneonta.  Titch was operating the vehicle and troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment.  Titch was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Troopers also located suspected drugs in the vehicle.  Titch was arrested and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Oneonta court on June 29, 2021. 

On June 3, 2021 at approximately 1:05 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Joshua P. Jones, age 37 for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction with 10 years).  Troopers assisted a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy who was investigating a crash and observed Jones on his ATV.  When troopers interviewed Jones, they smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  After an investigation, Jones was arrested.  He was processed at SP Ithaca then released on appearance tickets to the Town of Enfield court on June 28, 2021. 

On June 3, 2021 at approximately 9:06 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Ashley R. Bettencourt, age 32 of Warwick, RI for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper was dispatched to the report of a vehicle failing to maintain a lane near State Highway 23 and County Road 44.  The trooper observed the vehicle on the side of the road and checked to see if the driver was okay.  He interviewed Bettencourt and observed characteristics associated with impairment. Bettencourt was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment and she was arrested.  She was transported to SP Norwich for processing and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Plymouth court on June 23, 2021.

On June 3, 2021 at approximately 8:25 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Donald E. Schermerhorn, age 57 of McGraw, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper on State Route 41 in the Town of Cortlandville observed vehicle and traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop.  When the trooper interviewed Schermerhorn, he observed characteristics commonly associated with alcohol impairment.  Schermerhorn was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment and he was arrested.  He was transported to SP Homer for processing.  Schermerhorn was arraigned before a judge and released on his own recognizance.  He was ordered to appear in the Town of Cortlandville court on July 7, 2021. 

On June 3, 2021 at approximately 9:13 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Paige W. Reilly, age 32 of New Kingston, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper was dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of a vehicle that struck the guide rail on State Highway 28 in the Town of Meredith.  When the trooper arrived, Reilly was being checked out by EMS but was not transported.  While interviewing Reilly, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Reilly was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  She was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .15%.  Reilly was later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Meredith court on July 7, 2021.  

On June 4, 2021 at approximately 2:45 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Bonnie H. Lastner, age 34 of Rhinebeck, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving.  A trooper was dispatched by Delaware County 911 to the area of State Highway 28 and Fair Street in the Town of Middletown for a report of a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and rear-ending another vehicle.  While interviewing Lastner, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other common characteristics associated with impairment.  Lastner was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  She was arrested and transported to SP Margaretville for processing where her reportable B.A.C was .09%.  Lastner was issued appearance tickets to the Town of Middletown court on June 24, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 5, 2021 at approximately 11:58 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Margaret M. Mason, age 36 of Sherburne, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched by Chenango County 911 to a vehicle that struck a telephone pole and pulled wires down on Union Street in the Village of Sherburne.  Mason was checked out by Sherburne Fire and EMS but not transported.  While interviewing Mason, troopers observed characteristics commonly associated with alcohol impairment.  Mason was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  She was arrested and transported to SP Norwich for processing where her reportable B.A.C was .20%.  Mason was released on appearance tickets to the Village of Sherburne court on July 15, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 6, 2021 at approximately 1:13 a.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Samantha K. Moore, age 27 of Fleischmanns, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched by Delaware County 911 to a report of one vehicle in the ditch off Huckleberry Brook Spur in the Town of Middletown.  Moore and a 32-year old male were not injured.  An investigation at the scene determined that Moore was operating a Ford Econoline van.  Moore was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests which indicated impairment and she was arrested.  She was transported to SP Margaretville where her reportable B.A.C was .14%.  Moore was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Middletown court on June 22, 2021. 

On June 6, 2021 at approximately 8:24 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Vyacheslav G. Bagiryan, age 30 of Syracuse, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of an erratic driver on Interstate 81 in the Town of Chenango.  Troopers located the vehicle and Bagiryan.  While interviewing Bagiryan, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other common indicators of impairment.  Bagiryan was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .15%.  He was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Chenango court on June 22, 2021.

On June 7, 2021 at approximately 9:25 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Christopher E. Gebnar, age 55 of New Berlin, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a U-Haul truck that struck a guide rail on State Highway 7 in the Town of Sidney.  Sidney Fire and EMS were on scene and checked out Gebnar but he was not transported.  While interviewing Gebnar, the trooper observed common characteristics associated with impairment. Gebnar was arrested and later evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Sidney court on July 8, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 7, 2021 at approximately 3:20 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Daniel J. Magdziuk, age 47 of Cobleskill, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper was dispatched by Otsego County 911 to the report of an erratic driver on Interstate 88.  The trooper was able to spot the vehicle as it was exiting at Exit 13.  A traffic stop was initiated on County Highway 48 in the Town of Oneonta.  While interviewing Magdziuk, the trooper observed impairment.  After an investigation, Magdziuk was arrested.  He was transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .08%.  Magdziuk was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Oneonta court on June 15, 2021.

On June 8, 2021 at approximately 8:11 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Grace E. Archer, age 25 of Bainbridge, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper observed a vehicle with vehicle and traffic infractions and initiated a traffic stop on Evans Street in the Town of Bainbridge.  While interviewing Archer, the trooper observed impairment.  Archer was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  She was arrested and transported to SP Sidney for processing and additionally examined by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert.  Archer was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Bainbridge court on June 22, 2021

On June 10, 2021 at approximately 1:14 p.m., New York State Police at Stamford arrested Ryan A. Funk, age 44 of Stamford, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years). A trooper on State Highway 23 in the Town of Gilboa observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Funk, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Funk was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Stamford where his reportable B.A.C was .15%.  Funk was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Gilboa court on June 23, 2021.

On June 12, 2021 at approximately 1:45 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Allen L. Little, age 53 of Freeville, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.  Troopers were dispatched to check the welfare of an individual who had fallen asleep while at a traffic light on Warren Road and State Route 13 in the Town of Lansing then driving the wrong direction down State Route 13 before turning around.  With the assistance of a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy, the vehicle was located on Uptown Road, Little was passed out behind the wheel.  While interviewing Little, troopers observed impairment.  Little was also in possession of suspected drugs.  He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Little was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca for processing.  He was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Lansing court on June 24, 2021. 

On June 12, 2021 at approximately 8:19 p.m., New York State Police a Homer arrested Noah A. Garrett, age 24 of Cary, NC for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (with a prior conviction within 10 years).  A trooper was dispatched to a report of an erratic driver on Interstate 81 in the Town of Preble.  While monitoring traffic, the trooper spotted the described vehicle on I-81 in the Town of Cortlandville and observed the driver make vehicle and traffic infractions.  A traffic stop was initiated, and the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Garrett was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Homer where his reportable B.A.C was .20%.  Garrett was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Cortlandville court on July 12, 2021.

On June 12, 2021, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members from New York State Police at Margaretville were dispatched to a report of a golf cart taken from the Hanah Resort Golf Club on West Hubbell Hill Road in the Town of Middletown.  Troopers located the golf cart with three people in it while on State Highway 30 and initiated a traffic stop.  Troopers observed that the operator of the golf cart, Davis A. McPartland, age 34 of Wappingers Falls, NY displayed characteristics associated with impairment.  He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Margaretville for processing.  McPartland was charged with the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.  McPartland was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Middletown court on July 13, 2021.  Both passengers were also arrested.  Matthew M. Davis, age 37 of Wappingers Falls and Brian Davis, age 34 of Beacon, NY were issued appearance tickets for the misdemeanor of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle to the Town of Middletown court on July 13, 2021. 

On June 13, 2021 at approximately 11:03 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Joshua P. Jones, age 37 of Newfield, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years) and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.  A trooper was dispatched to a report of a man stopped on an ATV, with a shotgun slung over his shoulder in the middle of the traffic circle near Elmira Road an Trumbulls Corners in the Town of Newfield.  With the assistance of Ithaca City Police, the ATV and the operator were located in the City of Ithaca on James L. Gibbs Drive.  Jones was identified as the operator and troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment.  Jones was also in possession of a shotgun, which he cannot possess because he is a convicted felon.  After an investigation, Jones was arrested.  He was transported to SP Ithaca where he was processed and released on appearance tickets to the City of Ithaca court on June 17, 2021. 

On June 13, 2021 at approximately 7:59 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Dillon J. Humphris 23 of Morris, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Stalking in the fourth degree.  A trooper investigating a reported stalking case observed the described vehicle in the area of State Highway 28 in the Town of Oneonta and interviewed Humphirs who was in his running vehicle.  The trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment.  Humphris was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Humphris was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .08%.  He was later transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing on the Stalking charge and issued appearance tickets for the DWI to the Town of Oneonta court for July 6, 2021. 

On June 14, 2021 at approximately 12:10 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Baljinder Singh, age 24 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle involved in a crash on Watson Boulevard and Hall Street in the Town of Union, the operator of the vehicle left the scene.  Troopers located Singh at a nearby apartment complex.  Singh was checked out by Union Volunteer Emergency Squad but was not transported.  After an investigation, he was arrested.  Singh was transported to SP Endwell for processing and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Union court on July 6, 2021.

On June 16, 2021 at approximately 3:29 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Eric L. Larson, age 72 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to a report of a vehicle that went off the roadway and crashed into multiple trees near the area of Elmira Road and Enfield Falls Road in the Town of Ithaca.   A trooper located Larson and a passenger inside the vehicle.  Members from Bangs Ambulance transported the passenger to Robert Packer Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.  The trooper observed that Larson appeared intoxicated.  He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Larson was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where his reportable B.A.C was .22%.  Larson was processed and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Ithaca court on June 30, 2021.

On June 17, 2021 at approximately 12:01 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Gage A. Martin, age 19 of Deposit, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a vehicle that struck a pole near Main Street and Fair Street in the Town of Deposit.  Martin was checked out by Eastern Broome EMS but denied further treatment.  While interviewing Martin, a trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Martin was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested then transported to SP Deposit where his reportable B.A.C was .19%.  Martin was processed and was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Deposit court on July 26, 2021.

On June 17, 2021 at approximately 5:15 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Karl L. Barnklau, age 47 of Starlight, PA for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper initiated a traffic stop on State Route 17 in the Town of Union after a vehicle was observed making vehicle and traffic infractions.  While interviewing Barnklau, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Barnklaue was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Endwell where his reportable B.A.C was .08%.  Barnklau was processed and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Union court on July 6, 2021. 

On June 18, 2021 at approximately 9:03 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Gregory L. Laughlin, age 60 of Spencer, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper was alerted of a vehicle that was reportedly involved in a property damage crash in the Village of Horseheads and left the scene.  The trooper spotted the vehicle on Crumtown Road in the Town of Spencer and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Laughlin, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and he was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests.  After an investigation, Laughlin was arrested.  He was transported to SP Candor for processing.  He was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Spencer court on July 15, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 19, 2021 at approximately 2:32 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested John J. Buell, age 33 of Earlville, NY misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers on State Route 8 and State Route 20 in the Town of Bridgewater observed a vehicle make vehicle and traffic infractions and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Buell, troopers observed several characteristic associated with impairment.  Buell was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .13%.  Buell was later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Bridgewater court on July 12, 2021. 

On June 19, 2021 at approximately 8:40 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Katelyn J. Hruby, age 31 of Greene, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper initiated a traffic stop after observing vehicle and traffic infractions on Chestnut Street in the Town of Oneonta.  While interviewing Hruby, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Hruby was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Hruby was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where her reportable B.A.C was .14%.  She processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Oneonta court on July 6, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party.

On June 19, 2021 at approximately 8:20 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Sarah J. Bobier, age 22 of Windsor, NY for the misdemeanors of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving.  A trooper observed a vehicle driving recklessly while on State Route 434 in the Town of Owego and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Bobier, troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment.  She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Bobier was transported to SP Owego for processing where her reportable B.A.C was .23%.  Bobier was later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Owego court on July 13, 2021. 

On June 19, 2021 at approximately 10:22 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Dustin M. Jones, age 27 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle speeding while on State Highway 23 in the Town of Oneonta.  While interviewing Jones, the trooper observed characteristics associated with alcohol impairment.  After an investigation, Jones was arrested.  He was transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .11%.  Jones was issued appearance tickets to the Town of Oneonta court on July 13, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 19, 2021 at approximately 11:23 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Kaleb T. Prentice-Stansbury, age 22 of Cobleskill, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling on Chestnut Street in the City of Oneonta with no headlights.  While interviewing Prentice-Stansbury, the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment.   Prentice-Stansbury was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .12%.  Prentice-Stansbury was released on appearance tickets to the City of Oneonta court on July 12, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party.

On June 20, 2021 at approximately 1:51 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Gregory A. Marsini, age 61 of New Berlin, NY for the misdemeanor of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper was dispatched by Otsego County 911 to a report of an erratic driver on State Highway 23 in the Town of Oneonta.  Troopers located the vehicle on State Highway 23 near Southside Mall and initiated a traffic stop.  During their course of their investigation, troopers determined Marsini was impaired and he was arrested.  Marsini was transported to SP Oneonta for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .23%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Oneonta court on July 13, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 21, 2021 at approximately 9:43 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Amanda J. Moon, age 27 of South New Berlin, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper on County Road 25 in the Town of Richfield observed a vehicle driving down the center of the road and other violations. A traffic stop was made, and the trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment.  Moon was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  She was arrested and transported to SP Richfield Springs where her reportable B.A.C was .08%.  Moon was issued appearance tickets to the Town of Richfield court on July 27, 2021 and released to a sober third party. 

On June 22, 2021 at approximately 3:22 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Chad J. Roberts, age 38 of Richfield Springs, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  Troopers observed a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle at the Speedway on State Highway 20 in the Town of Richfield.  While interviewing Roberts, troopers observed common indicators associated with impairment.  After an investigation, Roberts was arrested.  He was transported to SP Richfield Springs where he was also evaluated by a New York State Police drug recognition expert.  He was later processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Richfield court on July 27, 2021. 

On June 22, 2021 at approximately 5:20 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Geraldine V. Clark, age 64 of Endicott, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  Troopers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that struck a camper on Massachusetts Avenue in the Town of Union.  Troopers learned that Clark was operating the vehicle and that she appeared impaired.  Clark was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Clark was arrested and transported to SP Endwell where she was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert.  She was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Union court on July 6, 2021.

On June 23, 2021 at approximately 8:10 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Patricia L. Monroe, age 40 of Bainbridge, NY for the felony of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with Child as Passenger (Leandra’s Law).  Troopers responded to a report of a woman possibly impaired near the Village of Bainbridge Pool on Walnut Avenue.  They located Monroe who they observed to be impaired.  Troopers also observed three children in the vehicle.  Monroe was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Monroe was arrested, the children were turned over to a sober third party.  Monroe was transported to SP Sidney, where she was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert.  She was processed then released to a sober third party.  Monroe is scheduled to appear in the Village of Bainbridge Court on July 27, 2021. 

On June 24, 2021 at approximately 4:25 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Harold A. White, age 60 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Impaired by Drugs.  A trooper on State Highway 12 in the Town of Norwich observed a vehicle failing to stay in its lane and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing White, the trooper observed impairment.  White was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Norwich where he was additionally evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert.  White was processed and later released on appearance tickets to the Town of Norwich court on July 15, 2021.

On June 25, 2021 at approximately 12:12 a.m., New York State Police at Greene arrested Robert J. Goerlich, age 52 of Greene, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A trooper on Airport Road in the Town of Greene observed a vehicle with a traffic infraction and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Goerlich, the trooper observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment.  Goerlich was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Greene for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .17%.  Goerlich was processed then released on appearance tickets to the Town of Greene court on July 17, 2021.  He was later turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 25, 2021 at approximately 1:48 p.m., New York State Police at Gateway arrested Lisa M. Wayman, age 49 of Binghamton, NY for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched to a report of a crash involving a suspected impaired driver on Kattelville Road in the Town of Chenango.   Troopers discovered that Wayman went down a lawn on Kattelville Road, struck a fence and air conditioning unit then drove into the driveway of her residence.  Chenango Ambulance and Chenango Bridge Fire company evaluated Wayman at the scene and she declined further medical treatment.  Troopers observed several characteristics associated with impairment.  Troopers also learned that Wayman does not possess a valid driver’s license.  After an investigation, Getson was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton for processing then later transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing. 

On June 25, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Michael R. Skinner, age 54 of Richford, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper was dispatched by Tompkins County 911 to the area of Cortland Road and Dutcher Road in the Town of Dryden for a report of a vehicle that was in the ditch and in the trees.  When the trooper arrived, she observed characteristics associated with intoxication.  Skinner was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where his reportable B.A.C was .15%.  Skinner was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Dryden court on July 12, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party. 

On June 25, 2021 at approximately 10:50 p.m., New York State Police at Marathon arrested Scott A. Fickett, age 49 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched a report of a vehicle that struck a mailbox on State Route 13 in the Town of Homer then continued driving to Lighthouse Hill Road.  Troopers were assisted by an officer from the Village of Homer Police Department.  The vehicle was stopped, and the trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment.  Fickett was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  He was arrested and transported to SP Homer for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .14%.  Fickett was released to a sober third party and scheduled to appear in the Town of Cortlandville court on July 12, 2021.

On June 26, 2021 at approximately 4:15 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Zachery M. Mattice, age 27 of Delhi, NY for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.  A trooper on State Highway 10 in the Town of Delhi observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Mattice, the trooper observed impairment.  Mattice was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Mattice was additionally found in possession of suspected drugs.  He was arrested and transported to SP Stamford for processing where his reportable B.A.C was .14%.  Mattice was processed then released to a sober third party.  He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Delhi court on July 20, 2021. 

On June 26, 2021 at approximately 9:46 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Andrew L. Thompson, age 34 of Conklin, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  A trooper on Conklin Road in the Town of Conklin Road initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle crossing over the double yellow solid line.  The trooper observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment.  Thompson was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Thompson was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton where his reportable B.A.C was .16%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Conklin court on July 22, 2021.

On June 26, 2021 at approximately 9:51 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Will A. Newton, age 46 of Freeville, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years).  A trooper on Peruville Road in the Town of Lansing observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Newton, the trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Newton was arrested and transported to SP Ithaca where his reportable B.A.C was .12%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the Town of Lansing court on July 13, 2021.

On June 27, 2021 at approximately 3:10 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Jordan T. Klym, age 21 of Endwell, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers in the City of Binghamton near Water Street and East Clinton Street observed a vehicle make several vehicle and traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop on Front Street.  While interviewing Klym, troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Klym was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Klym was arrested and transported to SP Endwell where his reportable B.A.C was .15%.  He was processed and released on appearance tickets to the City of Binghamton court on July 15, 2021. 

On June 27, 2021 at approximately 8:47 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Peter Ackley, age 46 of Franklin, NY for the misdemeanors of Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Driving and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person on a motorcycle on Turnpike Road in the Town of Meredith but then observed the described motorcycle and person traveling at a high rate of speed on State Highway 357 in the Town of Franklin.  Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop.  Ackley who was operating the motorcycle did not stop initially but then stopped at a cemetery east of the Village of Franklin.  Troopers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed several characteristics associated with impairment.  After an investigation, he was arrested and transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .24%.  Ackley was processed then turned over to a sober third party.  He’s scheduled to appear in the Town of Franklin court on July 8, 2021.

On June 30, 2021 at approximately 12:30 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Brooke A. Wallace, age 28 of Kirkwood, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that struck a pole, four mailboxes and a post marker on Francis Street in the Town of Kirkwood.  Wallace declined medical attention.  Troopers observed characteristics commonly associated with impairment.  She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment.  Wallace was arrested and transported to SP Binghamton for processing.  She was released on appearance tickets to the Town of Kirkwood court on August 4, 2021 then turned over to a sober third party.
