On March 15, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., state troopers from the Greenville barracks responded to a report of a domestic incident in the town of Greenville (Orange County). Investigation revealed that a physical altercation occurred at a residence.  Troopers learned that Jeff Sniffen, age 46 from the town of Greenville, struck the victim with a closed fist causing physical injury. He then broke the victim’s cellphone making it inoperative. While speaking to troopers, Mr. Sniffen threatened to destroy the victim’s vehicle. He then grabbed a metal bat to strike the vehicle. Mr. Sniffen was immediately taken into custody. He was charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, property damage, and Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, damaging a motor vehicle, both felonies. He was additionally charged with Assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.

Jeff Sniffen was transported to Orange County Jail for pre-arraignment holding.
