PRESS RELEASE
A state trooper in Catskill was patrolling on State Route 23 in the town of Cairo at 11:00 a.m. when he observed a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The trooper stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as James Gaudiosi Jr, age 27 of the city of Hudson. While speaking to the Gaudiosi, it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was driving on a suspended license. He was subsequently arrested for DWI. A search of his vehicle yielded a loaded .22 caliber pistol, a .22 long rifle, a black magazine containing ammunition, a "billy-club", Tramadol in a pouch and marihuana.
James Gaudiosi Jr was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, all felonies. He was additionally charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a misdemeanor and Unlawful Possession of marihuana, a violation. He was arraigned in the Town of Cairo Court in front of Town Judge Dorpfeld was released on his recognizance.
