Catskill - On April 4, 2022, at approximately 2:47 a.m., troopers from the Catskill barracks observed a 2004 Acura TSX traveling on West Bridge Street in the town of Catskill in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Troopers stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Angelo Salvatore, age 38 from Catskill and the passenger as Michael Scalice, age 35 from Red Hook, NY. While speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, it was determined that the passenger, Scalice was in possession of cocaine and heroin. A search of the vehicle yielded a "billy club".
Michael Scalice was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, a felony and the misdemeanors Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.
Angelo Salvatore was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree- Previous Conviction, a felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Driving While Intoxicated, both misdemeanors.
They were both arraigned in the Town of Cairo Court in front of Judge Vandeberg. Salvatore was remanded to Green County Jail with a return date of April 7, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. to the Town of Catskill Court. Scalice was released on his own recognizance but was remanded to custody for an outstanding warrant. He was later issued an appearance ticket for April 7, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. to the Town of Catskill Court.
