 Major Eric L. Laughton
 Troop E Commander

At approximately 1:00 pm on Monday November 4th, while on routine patrol New York State Police observed a vehicle crossing over the center line on Maple Street in the Town of Big Flats. Police stopped the vehicle and asked the driver, Sue Oleshak, age 66 of Corning, to provide a driver’s license. Oleshak was unable to locate the document and was visibly confused. Oleshak had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and told police that she was driving home after leaving home. Police had observed Oleshak leaving the local post office. There was an open cup in the center console and Oleshak told police it was vodka and soda. Oleshak was unable to complete roadside sobriety tests and she was taken to the station in Big Flats. She was arrested for DWI and was found to have a BAC of .17%, more than double the legal limit of .08%.  Oleshak will appear in the Town of Big Flats court at a later date and was released to a sober third party.
