On December 13, 2019, State Police in Latham, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested 26-year-old James E. Scott of Albany, for Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child (E felony) and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D felony).
Scott is accused of possessing and uploading images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet. He was taken into custody after the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
Scott was arraigned in Albany City Court and released on his own recognizance, he is due back in court at a later date.
The investigation stemmed from several cyber tip received by the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
