PRESS RELEASE

On September 10, 2019, State Police at SP Capital arrested 49-year-old Perry L. Govan of Albany, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree ( D felony), and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree ( unclassified misdemeanor).
 
At approximately 10:07 p.m. Troopers from SP Capital were on patrol in the area of Lark Street in the city of Albany when they observed a vehicle operating in violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
 
Troopers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was identified as Perry Govan. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle that Govan was operating had been stolen out of the village of Monroe earlier that morning. Govan was taken into custody without incident, and transported to SP Capital for processing.
 
Govan was arraigned in Albany City Court and remanded to Albany County Jail without bail. He is due back in court on September 16, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
