On January 4, 2020, State Police in Schodack arrested 27-year-old Floyd Johnson of Albany, for Possession of a Forged Instrument (D felony) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree (A misdemeanor).
Floyd Johnson was arrested by State Police Investigators after it was discovered that he had stolen a check from the victim’s mailbox and cashed it for over $1,000. The victim had originally made the check payable to another person and put it in their mailbox. The victim later noticed that the flag on their mailbox was still up, but the check was missing.
When the victim checked their bank statement, they saw that the check had been cashed and was altered to be payable to Floyd Johnson.
Johnson was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back on January 14, 2020.
