Albion man arrested for felony DWI in Houghton

On February 21, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested Aaron Burnside, 23, of Albion, NY for Driving While Intoxicated – Previous Conviction Within Past 10 Years and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree.

Troopers investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle operating on a sidewalk and subsequently stuck in a snowbank in the hamlet of Houghton in the town of Caneadea determined Burnside had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Burnside was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Burnside was arraigned in Caneadea Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance. He is due to reappear in that court at a later date.
