PRESS RELEASE

 

On October 6, 2021, at approximately 5:49 p.m., State Police in Alexandria Bay and  Watertown responded to an Attempted Robbery at the Big M store located on State Route 12, in the town of Alexandria. 

It was reported that a male subject displayed a knife and attempted to steal a purse from a 68-year-old female customer.  The male fled the scene without obtaining the purse. 

The investigation resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Christopher J. Brundage from Alexandria Bay, NY. Brundage was charged with (1) count of Attempted Robbery 1st degree (B-felony) and (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (A-misdemeanor).  He was arraigned in the town of Cape Vincent Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail without bail.  

The New York State Police was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation and arrest.
