On May 17th, 2021, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Timothy Slater, 56, of Allegany, for two counts of Menacing a Police Officer, Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree.
The Troopers responded to a property in Randolph for a report of a suspicious person. Immediately upon the Troopers’ arrival, Slater charged at the Troopers with a kitchen knife. Slater obeyed commands to drop the knife and was taken into custody without further incident. While searching Slater, the Troopers located approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket. During the investigation of this incident, the Troopers were advised by a Randolph resident that he was awakened a few hours prior to Slater inside his kitchen with a knife. The resident was able to convince Slater to leave his residence peacefully. Slater was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned, and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail.
