Almond man arrested for DWI, resisting arrest

On June 43, 2019, SP Amity Troopers arrested Clifton B. Cornell, 76, of Almond, NY for Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment 2nd Degree.

During their investigation of a complaint on Mill Street in the village of Almond, Troopers determined Cornell had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Cornell was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Cornell was arraigned in Almond Town Court, where he was remanded to Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to reappear in that court in July.
