Andover man arrested on numerous charges following Almond crash

On March 28, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested Ronald s. Dick, 56, of Andover, NY for Arson 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, and Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Effects of Drugs and Alcohol.

Troopers investigating a collision of a motor vehicle into a house on State Route 21 in the town of Almond determined Dick was impaired by both alcohol and drugs at the time of the collision. Witnesses reported Dick then started his vehicle on fire to destroy evidence while it was embedded in the residence. Troopers also discovered Dick to be in possession of methamphetamine. He failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests at the scene.

Dick was arrested and released with appearance tickets for Almond Town Court, where he is due to appear in April.
