Angelica accident leads to felony charges

On January 31, 2020, SP Amity Troopers arrested Cody A. Hogue, 25, of Angelica, NY for Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree – Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired Causing Serious Physical Injury, Leaving the Scene of Serious Physical Injury Accident, Reckless Driving, and Driving While Intoxicated.

Troopers investigating an accident on County Road 16 in the village of Angelica determined Hogue had been operating the vehicle in a reckless manner while in an intoxicated condition. Following the accident, he left the scene while knowing another person was injured inside the vehicle. He failed standardized field sobriety tests.  Hogue was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.17% BAC.

Hogue was arraigned in Friendship Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due to appear in Angelica Village Court later this month.
