Dunkirk, NY - On April 7, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit were conducting oversized vehicle inspections on I-90 in the town of Dunkirk.  During an inspection of 2007 Peterbilt tractor trailer registered in Arkansas, Troopers discovered a Ruger Wrangler .22LR revolver in the driver’s side door compartment and a Glock 23 located in the sleeping area of the truck.  The Glock contained a fully loaded 13-round magazine.

The driver, Luis Corona Jr., 26, of Garfield, AR, did not possess a New York State pistol permit and was taken into custody.  He was transported and processed at SP Dunkirk where he was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (large capacity ammunition feeding device); all Felonies.

Corona was transported to Chautauqua County Jail pending an arraignment.
