On March 16, 2020, New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Austin T. Parry, age 25 of West Winfield, NY for the felonies of Assault in the second degree and Reckless Endangerment in the first degree.  He was also charged with the misdemeanors of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.  Erek K. Treen-Goff, age 27 of Ilion, NY was charged with the misdemeanor of Obstruction Governmental Administration. 

Troopers initiated a traffic stop at the Valero gas station in the town of Bridgewater after they observed vehicle and traffic violations.  While the troopers were conducting their investigation, Parry accelerated the vehicle and turned at an angle, subsequently striking one of the troopers in the lower leg, causing him to fall to the ground.  Parry fled the area in the vehicle; both men were located a short time later at a residence in the town of Columbia.  Parry and Treen-Goff were transported back to SP Richfield Springs, arrested and processed. Parry was transported to Oneida County Central Arraignment and Processing where he remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.  He is scheduled to appear in Oneida County Court on March 20, 2020.    

Treen-Goff was released on an appearance ticket to the town of Bridgewater court on April 6, 2020. 

The trooper sustained non-life threatening injures, he was transported by ambulance to Basset Hospital in Cooperstown and was later released.
