On May 1, 2012, three members of the Occupy Albany Movement were arrested in Lafayette Park for Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct.
At about 11:10 am, BRUCE J. BISSON , 58 of Melrose, NY, and TIMOTHY L. HOLMES, 48, of West Chazy, NY, were congregating in Lafayette Park in the City of Albany when they started to erect an "EZ up shelter." Members of the State Police advised the subjects that erecting any structure in the State Park was not permitted and their rights to remain in the park would be revoked unless they stopped their actions. After issuing warning to the men on three separate occasions, Troopers moved in to remove the structure and Bisson and Holmes each took turns in grabbing and holding onto the structure until they were placed under arrest.
At about 12:24 pm, JOANNE L. FARRELL, 47 of Rensselaer, NY, was gathered in Lafayette Park in the City of Albany when she started to construct a table for meetings. Members of the State Police advised the subject that erecting any structure in the State Park was not permitted and her rights to remain in the park would be revoked unless she stopped her activity. After being warned on three separate occasions, Troopers moved in to remove the structure and FARRELL stood and danced on the table until she was placed under arrest.
All parties were processed at SP Capital and are awaiting arraignment.
