Car crash in Forestport causes power outage in Oneida county

(Forestport, NY - July 6, 2012) - On July 5, 2012, State Police in Remsen investigated a one-car personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 10:00 pm on State Route 28 in the town of Forestport. 
A 2005 Saab, operated by Caleb A. Kotwica, age 20, of Holland Patent, was traveling southbound on State Route 28 when he took his eyes off the road as he reached for a personal item in the passenger seat and struck a utility pole.  State Route 28 was closed for approximately four hours while National Grid responded to scene and repaired the utility pole. Kotwica was treated for minor injuries to his hand by Forestport Fire Department at scene and released.   No tickets were issued.
