Suspected overdose leads to multiple drug charges

An EMS call to a Chatham mobile home park ended in a hospital stay and a trip to court.  The Columbia County 911 Center dispatched a call for an unresponsive male in a community on State Route 295, prompting a Chatham Rescue Squad and State Police response.  While treating the patient, a resident of the home was discovered with packaging and paraphernalia, containing heroin, two hypodermic needles, packaging and two glass pipes, containing crack cocaine and a glass pipe, containing marihuana.  Jason Russ, 22, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  Russ will answer his charges in the Chatham Town Court on January 23rd.  The investigation and arrests were made by Troopers John La Plante and Jerrad Weber.
