Birthday Celebration leads to DWI in Collins
COLLINS – On March 23rd Troopers arrested 22yr old Charles Burgess of St Rte 39 in Gowanda for DWI, following a 911 an erratic driver call.  Mr. Burgess was traveling south on St Rte 62, returning from Hamburg where he'd been celebrating his birthday, when he nearly hit another car.  The driver of the car turned and followed Burgess, calling 911 to report his driving from a cell phone.  Troopers spotted Burgess’s car near their barracks and stopped him after they observed his erratic driving.  Erie County Sheriffs Deputies arrived on scene shortly after to assist and he was arrested for DWI.  He was processed at SP Collins with a reportable BAC of .15%.  He’s due in Collins Town Court later this month.
