Illegal Possession of a Burmese Python

On March 27, 2013 the New York State Police in Warsaw along with the Village of Perry Police, assisted the officers from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, with their investigation into the illegal possession of a Burmese Python, a dangerous constrictor snake, by a Village of Perry resident.
Darrell Alan Boyd, age 39, of 65 South Main Street, Apt A, Perry, New York was arrested by the Environmental Conservation Police for Section 11-0512 of the New York State Environmental Conservation Law, for the Illegal Possession of the Burmese Python. Boyd was issued an Appearance Ticket and is to appear in the Village of Perry Court on May 7, 2013.
The snake was safely removed from Boyd's residence and secured by the NYSDEC Bureau of Wildlife, Buffalo, NY pending disposition of the case.
