Body of pilot in Hudson River crash recovered and identified

At approximately 4:30 pm on Friday, May 3, 2013, New York State Police divers, assisted by Ulster and Greene County Sheriff's divers, located the body of Michael B. Braunstien, 72, of Copake, NY.
Mr. Braunstien is the pilot and owner of the plane that had been missing from Columbia County on Thursday.
Divers located his body in a debris field in about 20 feet of water in the Hudson River.
The body has been identified and has been removed the scene, and an autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.
The investigation is continuing.
The State Police were assisted by the State Office of Emergency Managment and Greene County Emergency Services.
