Sought Rape Suspect Captured

(Kirkwood, NY – June 21, 2013) On June 20, 2013 Michael J. Degnan was arrested for Rape 1st Degree and was additionally placed in custody on a Parole Violation warrant after being located at the Dell Motel in the Town of Kirkwood. This arrest was the result of a combined investigation between State Police in Binghamton, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, and the New York State Division of Parole. Investigators from the Binghamton Police Department and Broome County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the apprehension of Degnan. Degnan was processed at the Binghamton State Police barracks, arraigned in the Town of Kirkwood Court, and remanded to the Broome County Jail on no bail. The investigation is continuing.

Subject being sought by State Police for Rape 1st Degree

(Fenton, NY – June 12, 2013) State Police in Binghamton are attempting to locate 38 year old Michael J. Degnan who is wanted for Rape 1st degree in reference to the forcible rape of a 14 year old female in the Port Crane area on June 8, 2013. Degnan is known to have a violent criminal history. State Police are currently working in conjunction with the Federal Marshal’s task force to locate and apprehend Degnan. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Michael Degnan is requested to call State Police at 607-775-1241.
