3 Granby men arrested when resident interupts burglary in progress upon arriving home.
(Fulton, NY - October 4, 2013) -
On October 4, 2013 at approximately 12:45 pm The New York State Police in Fulton were dispatched to a residence on Phinney Road in the Town of Granby for a 911 call of a burglary in progress. A female resident had returned home and discovered that 3 males had broken into her residence and were attempting to steal property. The resident confronted the 3 subjects who were unknown to her, and a struggle ensued as she attempted to restrain the subjects after she had called 911. During the struggle, one the males, subsequently identified as Jessie Walden, struck the female in the head with a bottle of wine that he was stealing from the residence.
The victim was able to keep one of the subjects at the house upon the arrival of the Troopers. The subsequent investigation led to the arrests of the following subjects for Burglary 1st degree (Class B Felony):
- Jessie Walden – 07/07/93 – 30 Best Drive, Fulton, NY - Town of Granby
- Stephen Hagen – 11/22/92 – 30 Best Drive, Fulton, NY - Town of Granby
- Jonathon Tanner – 07/01/96 – 105 Hanley Road, Hannibal, NY - Town of Granby
Jessie Walden was additionally charged with Assault 2nd degree (Class D Felony) for striking the resident in the head with the wine bottle. The victim received a laceration to her forehead that required medical attention at Oswego Hospital where she was treated and released.
All three subjects were arraigned in the Town of Granby Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail on $7,500 cash/$15,000 bond.
