State Police charge Utica man with Felony Drug Possession

(Utica, NY - October 30, 2013)On October 28, 2013, Trooper Michael Petrie and Trooper Terry Duerr stopped ROBERT GARRETT, age 19, of 1536 Dudley Avenue, Utica, N.Y., for walking in the roadway in the City of Utica.
GARRETT was found to have an active warrant from the Utica Police Department for Criminal Mischief and he was taken into custody. A search of GARRETT turned up 12 individual bags totaling approximately 2.7 grams of crack cocaine. GARRETT was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class “B” felony.
He was processed at the State Police barracks in Marcy and was subsequently turned over to the City of Utica PD for arraignment in City Court.
