PRESS RELEASE

On October 30, 2013, members of the Kingston State Police investigated a serious personal injury motor vehicle accident on Wittenberg Road in the Town of Woodstock.  Dillon Binder, 18 of Mount Tremper, was eastbound on Wittenberg Road at an excessive rate of speed, when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve.  The vehicle travelled off the right shoulder of the road, where Binder over-corrected causing the vehicle to travel back across the road, striking a second vehicle driven by 46 year old William Estrada of Catskill.  Binder's vehicle continued off the roadway, striking an earth embankment and a tree.  Binder was transported to Kingston Hospital in serious condition.  The investigation revealed that in addition to excessive speed, Binder was also operating the motor vehicle in an impaired condition.  State Police were assisted at the scene by the Town of Woodstock Police, Woodstock Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Town of Shandaken Police.
