Wappinger, New York – At approximately 1:30 p.m., the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks investigated a 4 car personal injury auto accident in the area of Myers Corners Road and Ervin Drive.
Police investigation revealed that a 70-year-old Wappinger Falls resident was operating a 2013 Buick, traveling westbound. Witnesses reported that the Buick crossed into the eastbound lane, re-entered the westbound lane, and subsequently sideswiped a 2007 Honda Accord. The Buick continued to travel on the shoulder of the roadway, striking a 2012 Ford Explorer, also traveling westbound. The Buick then struck the rear of a school bus that was stopped in traffic waiting to turn into Ketchum High School, also facing westbound. The operator of the Buick was reported to be entrapped underneath of the school bus.
