UPDATE 8:00 p.m. - New York State Police investigate suspicious deaths in Pleasant Valley

The State Police have identified the family involved in the suspicious death investigation  as 49-year-old Abbas Lodhi and his two children, Zain Lodhi, 9 years old, and Mugthba Lodhi, 13 years old.  Police are requesting your assistance in trying to locate  Sarwat Lodhi, 43 years old.  The State Police believe that Sarwat Lodhi is a victim in this tragedy and  may be injured and in need of medical attention. 

The attached photo is of Sarwat Lodhi.  Anyone with information or knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to contact the New York State Police, Troop K at (845)677-7300.

 
Pleasant Valley, New York – On November 21, 2013 at approximately 8:30 a.m., State Police responded to a Dutchess County 911 poll reporting an unresponsive male located inside of a vehicle at the A & P Plaza, Milestone Square, 13 North Avenue, in the Town of Pleasant Valley.
 
Upon police arrival, the male subject was determined to be deceased.  Further investigation revealed an additional subject in the vehicle, also deceased.  Both  subjects appeared to have been fatally injured as a result of a gun shot wound.
 
Pursuant to investigation at the crime scene, Troopers responded to the victim’s residence and located a third subject, inside of the home that appears to also have died as a result of a gun shot wound.
 
The three victims were all related and a fourth family member has not been accounted for.
 
The State Police are utilizing all resources available to aid in this investigation, including Division Aviation and  K9 Units to locate this missing individual.
 
We believe that this is a family tragedy and that the public should be not be concerned for their safety.
 
The State Police will release additional information once notification is made to the next of kin.
