Man asleep at wheel arrested for meth manufacture in Whitney Point

On March 5, 2014 a New York State Trooper on patrol in the Village of Whitney Point arrested a Binghamton resident for the unlawful manufacture and possession of methamphetamine and Driving While Ability Impaired after the trooper located the vehicle driven into a snowbank and the driver asleep at the wheel.
State Police charged CODY A. McNEILLY of 2 Baker St., Binghamton, New York with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd degree, a class D felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, both misdemeanors.
At approximately 6:35 AM, Trooper MATTHEW HOLOCEK of the New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit discovered McNEILLY sleeping at the wheel of a running vehicle that was lodged in a snowbank on Collins Street in the Village of Whitney Point. After further investigation, Trooper HOLOCEK arrested McNEILLY for DWAI-Drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.
Members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) assisted with the investigation and processing of the lab components.
McNEILLY was arraigned in the Town of Triangle court before T/J Lee and remanded to the Broome County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000.00 bond.
The investigation is continuing.
