Malta Woman Arrested For Drugged Driving With Infant In Vehicle

On April 14, 2014, at 4:35 pm, the troopers from SP Saratoga responded to a personal injury accident on State Route 9 and Cramer Road in Malta New York involving two vehicles. Subsequent to the investigation, Ashley Schober, 25, of Malta, stated she attempted to pass a vehicle on State Route 9 and lost control of her vehicle which caused her to strike another vehicle which was on Cramer Road. Schober's vehicle became airborne and eventually landed on its roof. Schober was determined to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested for driving while the ability impaired by drugs, which was a felony due to Schober having a one year old infant inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Injuries sustained in the accident are not considered life threatening. Schober consented to a blood draw and was issued appearance tickets to appear in Malta town court on a later date.
