Ballston Lake man arrested for fleeing a police officer and speeding

Coeymans, NY – On May 8, 2014 just after 6 a.m., State Police in Albany were patrolling I-87 northbound when they observed a yellow sport bike traveling at a high rate of speed.  

When Troopers attempted to pull the motorcycle over, the operator increased speed and failed to comply.

Additional units arrived in the area and the operator was stopped without incident.


Nikkolaus V. McCarthy, 27, of Ballston Lake, NY, was arrested and transported to SP Albany where he was processed and charged with the following: 

 

  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in the 3rd Degree, Class A Misdemeanor
  • Reckless Driving
  • Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Infractions 

McCarthy, currently on probation in Saratoga County for a similar charge in 2012, was issued an Appearance Ticket ordering him to appear in the Town of Coeymans Court on Thursday May 22, 2014 at 9 a.m.
