State Police in Cobleskill arrested Charles A. Bowen, 50, of Summit in Schoharie County, for felony Grand Larceny 3rd after an investigation revealed that he had been stealing money from his bowling league.  Bowen had been elected treasurer for the Cobleskill Bowling League based out of Cobleskill Lanes and was tasked with collecting money from each of the 50 members.  He was collecting membership money from September 2013 to April 2014.  He received $20,000.  Investigation revealed that he had taken nearly $10,000 of that money for personal use.  Other league officers had noticed that some of the bills paid from that fund were returned for insufficient funds which sparked an inquiry.  Bowen was arrigned before a Cobleskill Justice and remanded to the Schoharie County Jail.
