Crown Point man arrested for violating order of protection

On June 25, 2014, at approximately 3:30 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on Bradford Hill Road in Crown Point for a report of an order of protection violation.
46-year-old John E. Graves Jr. of Crown Point, took the victim’s keys to her car and got into her car and started it. Graves then spun the tires, causing the rear brakes to lock up, and causing substantial damages to the rear wheel bearings and brakes.
Graveswas arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt 1st Degree, an E Felony, due to violating an active order of protection issued by the Town of Crown Point Court. He was also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.
Graves was arraigned at the Town of Crown Point Court and remanded to Essex County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail, $1,000 bond. Graves is to reappear at the Town of Crown Point Court on June 30, 2014, at 4 p.m.
