Claverack man charged with Felony Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Livingston, New York – On July 2, 2014 at approximately 8:45 p.m., New York State Police from the Livingston barracks charged John C. Rocha, age 53, of Claverack, New York, with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony. Rocha was charged with Felony Driving While Ability Impaired due to a previous conviction.
Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to investigate an erratic vehicle traveling on State Route 9H. Troopers stopped a vehicle matching the description offered by 911 and identified Rocha as the operator.
A State Police Drug Recognition Expert was used to confirm that Rocha was impaired.
Rocha was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Livingston Justice Court on July 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
