State Police-Saratoga

The State Police in Malta arrested John A. Garcia, 32, of Ballston Spa, on August 23, 2014 for violating a stay away order of protection which occurred in the town Malta.  Troopers received a complaint from the victim who alleged that Garcia violated the terms of the stay away order on August 18, 2014.  An investigation determined that Garcia violated the order and was subsequently arrested for criminal contempt in the first degree, an E felony.  Garcia was previously convicted of criminal contempt in the second degree within the past five years which made the current charge a felony.  Garcia was arraigned in the Charlton town court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $5000 bail and $10,000 bond.
