UPDATE: State Police in Wilton make arrest in hit and run investigation

UPDATE: June 6, 2016- Latham, NY


The New York State Police in Wilton have identified and arrested the operator of the white SUV involved in the Friday night hit and run accident that seriously injured a 9 year old Greenfield Center boy in Pyramid Pines Trailer Park in Wilton.  The boy was riding a bicycle onto Old Hickory Drive in the park at about 6:30 Friday evening when he was struck by the SUV. 


Brittni Weis, 29, of Wilton, was charged with an "E" felony, Leaving the Scene of a Serious Physical Injury Accident.  She was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, due to her driver's license having been previously suspended for failing to answer tickets.  Weis surrendered herself with her attorney at the State Police station in Wilton on Monday. 

She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Wilton Court at a later date.


State Police located the SUV at a residence in Wilton on Saturday after receiving a tip about a white SUV with damage. 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The New York State Police in Wilton are investigating a hit-and-run serious personal injury accident occurring in Pyramid Pines Mobile Home Park in the Town of Wilton which occurred at approximately 6:30PM on Friday 06/03/2016.


Witnesses state a white SUV was observed leaving the scene after striking a 9 year-old boy on a bike. The boy suffered severe head injuries was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where his is currently in pediatric ICU.


The SUV will have significant damage to the passenger’s side mirror.


The New York State Police is asking anyone with information as to the identity of the vehicle and/or operator to contact them at 518-583-7000.
