Man from Winfield arrested for felony DWI found to have 27 grams of marihuana

(Richfield, NY – January 9, 2017) On January 7, 2017, at about 2:10 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested David R. Wells Jr., age 36, from Winfield, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .15%, the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th degree and other traffic violations. 

This arrest occurred after traffic stop when a vehicle was observed speeding on State Route 20 in the Town of Richfield.  An investigation determined that Wells was driving while intoxicated, unlawfully possessed about 27 grams of marihuana and had an open can of beer.  This DWI arrest was a felony because he has a prior conviction for DWI within the last 10 years. 

Wells was arraigned in the Town of Richfield Court and was released.  His next court date is on February 28, 2017.
