State Police arrest Cambell man with juvenile runaway following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE


The New York State Police in Troop E, S.P. Bath announce the arrest of DILLON L. COOK, 19 years of age from Campbell, N.Y. Cook was arrested on December 9th, following a traffic stop and investigation on State Route 415 in the Town of Avoca. Cook was operating a vehicle reported stolen from the Town of Caitlin, Chemung County, N.Y. During the incident, COOK was found to be accompanied by a fifteen year old juvenile male. The juvenile was identified as a runaway, who had been previously reported missing and was being sought by the City of Coning Police Department. Cook was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Cook is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Avoca Court. The juvenile accomplice was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree and is being petitioned to Steuben County Probation Services.
 
 The New York State Police were assisted in this investigation by the Chemung County Sherriff’s Office and the Corning City Police Department.
