SP Jamestown - Several subjects arrested following traffic stop

On February 12th, 2017, the New York State Police arrested Navpreet Randhawa, 20, of Floral Park, NY, and his teenage driver for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Satyam Patel, 21, of Floral Park, NY was also arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The Troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 in Randolph for speeding and while speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. Patel was placed under arrest after he was found to be in possession of a bag containing 10 grams of marijuana and the driver was arrested after discovering he was in possession of Adderall pills without a prescription and a small amount of marijuana. Patel was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Randolph Court. Randhawa was arrested after he was found to be in possession of Alprazolam pills with no prescription and he and the driver were transported to SP Jamestown where they were processed. They were then arraigned in the Town of Randolph Court, released on their own recognizance and scheduled to reappear in the Town of Randolph Court on a later date.
