Man from Cortland arrested for the felony DWI after a prior DWI conviction

(Cortlandville, NY – March 20, 2017) On March 18, 2017, at about 11:05 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested James R. Duers Jr., age 45, of Cortland, NY, for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .11%, and other traffic violations.  This arrest occurred after a traffic stop when a vehicle was observed speeding on Interstate 81 in the Town of Cortlandville.  An investigation determined that Duers was driving while intoxicated.  This DWI arrest was a felony because he has a prior conviction for DWI within the last 10 years.  Duers was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandville Court on April 17, 2017.
